![]() Jenna Coleman shines once again as she avoids the Sheriff’s seduction and instead finds out all his secrets. Because I am the Doctor and this is my spoon! En garde!”īen Miller’s quietly spoken Sheriff of Nottingham steels from Alan Rickman’s film portrayal of the same role. His heated interactions with Robin Hood are hilarious. The Doctor amuses us by believing that he’s in a medieval theme park trying to prove the inhabitants of Sherwood Forest are fakes. Robin Hood and Azeem use a make-shift catapult to launch themselves over the castle wall (as seen in title card image). The Sheriff’s cousin fails him and so he stabs him with a sword and says, “Well at least I didn’t use a spoon.” The use of this quote really shows how crazy and evil the Sheriff is, and because it’s Alan Rickman it makes it even better.įinally, my favorite quote by far comes during the final battle. It also has a follow up later in the move. ![]() I like this threat so much because of how weirdly specific and gruesome it is. The threat is delivered by the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman), who plays the villain of the story. Moving on to one of my favorite threats of movie history, “I’m going to cut your heart out with a spoon!”, “Why a spoon, cousin? Why not an axe?”, “Because it’s DULL you twit, it’ll hurt more!”. He becomes friends with them and they help him later in the story, but this first antagonistic interaction is a great introduction. You see, Robin Hood has just come upon the outlaws who live in the forest and rob anyone that crosses the river. It was immediately followed by “Beg for mercy, rich man!”. This quote is sung to Robin Hood after he is dunked in the water by Will Scarlet (Christian Slater). What a dope, he tripped on a rope, now look at him shiver!”. Next up, the mocking little tune of, “There was a rich man from Nottingham who tried to cross a river. Which makes sense because she used to say this to me all the time growing up. This line is also my mothers entire parenting strategy rolled up in one quote. Robin is chewing him out, but this line perfectly shuts him up. Let’s start with the line from Azeem (Morgan Freeman), “You whine like a mule, you are still alive.” This was delivered after Azeem left Robin Hood (Kevin Costner) to a fight outnumbered six to one, because he was busy praying. If you haven’t realized by now, I have a love for movie quotes. For this review I am going to talk about my favorite quotes from this movie. With a cast including Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman, Kevin Costner, Christian Slater you can expect great things from this movie. I already watched 10 Things I Hate About You, so next up is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. My plan is to watch:Īnd yes, they all count as old movies because they are, in fact, Older Than Me. So, because Corona cancelled HIFF, I have decided to re-watch a bunch of my favorite older movies and write about them instead.
